Neelam Gill and Maria Borges art

Fear can be a big hurdle when you are an artist. I often find myself paralyzed by it and unable to create. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of not being good enough…they are all enemies of the creative process. This evening in my room in London I found myself broken and full of fear, not for my art but for other reasons. After wiping away the tears I decided to pick up a pen and pencil and paint the fear away.

It’s far from perfect, far from finished and far from what I wanted to be but I wanted to feel the joy again of being free and swept away with lines and nothing else..no rubber..nothing. I wanted to wash away from the soul the dust of every day life as Picasso said. “I choose to no longer be ruled by fear.  ”
